VAT SPECIALIST / Legislation Research: This currently seeking an ambitious individual with a background in tax to contribute to our team by conducting research on global VAT legislation. One of the main objectives is to understand the legislation, ensuring the most cost-efficient process for imports. This will consist of the following: Researching global VAT legislation, specifically focused on imports for clinical trials. Having an in-depth understanding of this legislation in order to apply the legislation in the most cost-effective approach for our clients. Understanding the specific VAT legislation on a per-country level, including VAT rates, reduced VAT rates, exemptions, reduced duty rates, etc. that are applicable to clinical trials and clinical commodities. Researching Free-Trade Agreements across the globe for clinical trial exemptions and opportunities to implement commercial solutions to our customers. Product development: Building upon the conducted research, to develop new Tax products (VAT, Duty, FTA) tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients: Comprehending client needs to develop Tax products that are commercially feasible. In this context, commercially feasible implies being both cost-efficient and timely. After developing the product, practical implementation for clients, ensuring the functionality and effectiveness of the Tax product. Providing detailed reporting for the Tax products. Client facing: The role involves a client-facing component, incorporating the following interactions: Participating in client calls to effectively explain and upsell VAT products. Collaborating closely with the rest of the client-facing team to integrate these savings into proposals and assisting in closing deals. Proficiency in conducting oneself in a professional manner, coupled with the necessary commercial acumen. Qualifications required: BCom Accounting/Taxation with Honours Preferred qualifications: CA (SA) MCom Taxation Desired Skills: CA(SA) MASTER OF COMMERCE TAX TAX SPECIALIST VAT SPECIALIST BCOM ACCOUNTING HONOURS Desired Qualification Level: Degree
