Employer Description
Our client is a manufacturer of mechanical parts for the mining, construction and agricultural industries.
Job DescriptionYou will be responsible for the following:
- Run the planning, production and day to day operations.
- Supervising the facilitys daily operations.
- Walking the workshop floor, and ensuring the correct parts are on the correct machines.
- Liaise with production manager, maintenance manager and orders / deliveries manager.
- Problem solving with maintenance manager on the shopfloor.
- Communicating with customers.
- Ensure health and safety standards are being maintained.
- Mechanical Engineering Degree/Diploma or Trade Test (Fitter and Turner) with managerial experience.
- Minimum of 15 years experience, preferably in a machine shop (mills, lathes, etc.).
- Must be able to read complex engineering drawings.
- Proficient in the use of measuring equipment, and have exposure to metal machining (turning, milling, heat treatment).
- Basic financial knowledge is beneficial.
- Labour law knowledge.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001.
