Job DescriptionYou will be responsible for the following:
- Perform failure analysis of boiler tube failures and other boiler related equipment.
- Analyse operation of boiler and boiler related equipment such as boiler pressure parts, milling plant, ducting and flue gas cleaning plant.
- Develop scope of work for maintenance activities.
- Perform plant maintenance review studies.
- Update drawings and documents according to designs or studies.
- Attend boiler tube failure task meetings and provide solutions to prevalent failures/problems.
- Inspect the boiler, boiler structures and other boiler related equipment.
- Oversee the compilation of the technical part of tender documents for major projects.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc, BEng or BTech).
- Professional Registration with ECSA preferable.
- 5 years experience in related technical field.
- Boiler and boiler related equipment processes.
- Boiler and boiler related equipment design principles, standards, and codes.
- Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Pressure Equipment Regulations.
- SANS 347
- Welding processes, metallurgy, and standards.
- Non-Destructive Testing methods and standards.
- Boiler operation and inspection.
- Ability to work on site.
