Reference: CPT002577-AK-1 Purpose of the role is to manage and control both Packed Goods and Packaging warehouses in all aspects of the operation to ensure that the business processes are conducted efficiently on a daily basis. Should be proficient in planning, warehouse control, distribution planning, adherence to Food Safety requirements, good housekeeping principles and material handling management maintenance as well as risk management and safety. Responsibilities: Establishes area that requires prioritisation, in line with business demands. Ensures that the IBT and customer transport plans are executed according to the agreed plan, Ensures loading/distribution schedule is completed on time, as per the service level agreements Ensures all vehicles available are in good working order so that it is loaded and leaves on time with deliveries, according to Food Safety requirements. Ensures staff time keeping is well managed Ensures that Packaging warehouse staff are aware of number of inbound vehicles by confirming the supplier deliveries Ensures timeous and correct GRVing of all incoming materials. Sage transactions must be completed on the same shift of physical receipts. Checks on a daily basis that staff on duty are working according to the checklist. Identifies areas of constraints and communicates to Superiors Reports daily to Regional Logistics Manager regarding activities on premises which includes number of trucks outbound and number of cases/pallets sold and/or transferred. Reports weekly on critical aspects of the operation such as damaged stock; inbound and outbound stock. Reports on the cost factors of the job – actual cost vs. budget. Submits a monthly report of the branch's expenses and profitability amongst other areas (Including staff overtime) Collates all the business(site) reports for month end reporting and presents to Logistics Manager for MBR. Ensures all inbound vehicles are off loaded on time to avoid delays. Makes sure all inbound and outbound procedures are followed. E.g. product integrity and pallet condition (Chep and Brown) Checks that budgeting information is completed and communicated to HOD. Manages staff time Requirements: 3-year tertiary qualification in Logistics and or related. A minimum of 3 – 5 years' experience in a similar managerial role within FMCG/Manufacturing industry. Preferably from the Food Industry Supply chain or logistics background will be advantageous. Sound knowledge of SAGE system.
