Warehouse Manager - Cape Town City Centre

RPO Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Warehouse Manager to join our client in the Food Manufacturing & Transport industry team. As such, our Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of a high-volume, fast-paced warehouse operation, ensuring efficiency and productivity in all aspects of warehouse operations. The Warehouse Manager will also be responsible for leading, training and developing a team of associates to become a driving force for success in the business. Responsibilities Oversee daily warehouse activities, including shipping and receiving, inventory management, and order fulfilment Ensure safety compliance with all OSHA and company regulations Develop and implement warehouse policies, procedures, and safety protocols Develop and manage warehouse KPIs to measure and improve performance, including productivity and accuracy metrics Optimize warehouse layout and organization, leveraging space and material handling equipment for maximum efficiency Analyze inventory levels to prevent stockouts, manage replenishment activities, and minimize excess inventory Maintain positive relationships with carriers, vendors, and customers to ensure seamless and efficient shipping and receiving operations Manage and develop a team of warehouse associates, providing training and guidance to maximize performance while maintaining a positive work environment. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business management, or a related field 5 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively manage, coach and mentor teams Demonstrated experience with warehouse management software (WMS), inventory management, and order fulfillment systems Proven ability to drive operational and process improvements Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies preferred Able to work flexible hours as needed, including nights and weekends Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and regulations.
