A supplier and distributor of composite materials and technology in South Africa is looking for a Warehouse Team Leader. Responsible for ensuring that that warehouse space is kept working, tidy, organized, and free from hazards. Responsibilities: In charge of picking stock, packing for dispatch and placing orders in delivery area. Together with the Head of Operations: Put together and manage the daily work plan. Prioritizing work that needs to be done in the warehouse according to the demands of the business Moving items through the warehouse from receipt to dispatch to customers. Making sure that all customer orders are fulfilled within the shortest possible timeline and packed to the required standard. Selecting space for storage and arranging for goods to be placed in the designated areas. Ensuring that prepared/picked orders meet the precise criteria and specifications of the PO. Complete picking list/slip & Sign off accuracy (Quality Check) Preparing dispatch notes where applicable Completing label requisitions and ensuring labels are correct. Moving and stacking goods ready for delivery, either by hand or using machinery Organizing the receiving and processing incoming stock. Maintain and monitor an accurate count of all warehouse inventory. Moving products from shipping trucks to warehouse shelves, or from the warehouse to the store. Move inventory and materials across facilities. Checking the warehouse for damaged or missing stock. Report damaged or missing inventory to supervisor. Manage stock levels and movement of stock. Assist with the Organizing & Receiving and processing of incoming stock. Assist with stocking shelves and removing outdated stock from shelves. Sort, organize, and store inventory in proper location. Package items and label correctly Stack and organize large bulk items. Allocating storage space to goods Relocating and re-stacking goods to make space for a new delivery. Ensure SOP`s are followed. Ensure all warehouse documentation is filed for traceability. Control and manage expired stock – Quarantine store. Dispose of empty/expired chemical containers. Inform supervisor & Imports Manager of Re-ordering if physical warehouse stock levels fall too low Ensuring that all team members are aware of their duties and priorities through: Issuing instructions / Assigning job duties to individual team members and fellow co-workers Work as an active team member to complete team goals Leading by example and ensuring that all team members adhere to the Company PPE requirements, Health & Safety Code, as well as attendance and timekeeping standards. Examining work on a regular basis for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures. Acting as a communications link between management and warehouse staff Maintaining a safe work environment in the warehouse Identifying and recommending corrective steps or correcting conditions that may affect employee safety. Ensure that the store is clean, safe, and presentable and remove safety hazards. Operate heavy machinery like forklifts to move or store stock. Inspecting forklift trucks, and other warehouse equipment on a regular basis Qualifications and Education Requirements National Senior Certificate Forklift license may be required. Valid driver's license. OWN TRANSPORT ESSENTIAL. A supervisory qualification would also be beneficial. Proven experience as a Warehouse Team Leader with experience of supervising and motivating a team. 3-5 years' Experience in warehouse, dispatch, and receiving. H&S officer (or wiliness to take on H&S officer within the first 3 months of joining) Must have stock take experience. Any experience involving customer service/interaction will bolster the applicant's submission. Preferred Skills Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy packages and objects. Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the course of the shift. Physically able to lift to 20 Kilograms or more. Excellent numeracy, literacy Must speak English fluently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Able to work independently. Highly organized and able to store items efficiently. Ability to follow processes and procedure accurately. Must follow all health and safety procedure and regulations. Attention to detail and Strong problem-solving skills. Strong work ethic Strong focus on Customer Service Can prioritize and execute tasks timeously/time management. Must be able to work under pressure.
