We are seeking a Welder that is cautious and emphasizes safety during all of their workplace activities. who has a steady hand and enough physical strength to manipulate heavy pieces of metal and piping according to the specifications of a blueprint. Highly skilled individual who also has basic understanding of physics and engineering that allows them to complete structurally sound repairs. The individual needs to be a good team player and communicate well with others when collaborating on large-scale projects. Understand drawings, weld procedure specifications (WPS), safe operating procedures, and other requirements for each task. Read WPS and Setup machine settings. Do fit-up, cleaning and weld preparations prior to welding. Able and willing to learn operation of electrical heating equipment. (Cooper Blankets) Perform own interpass weld cleaning. Able to periodically weld and pass welder performance qualification tests. Prepare/cut required shapes and weld according to structure plans. Inspection and measurement of fabricated components and compare to drawings and other requirements. Effectively operate welding machine within specification and intended use to. Fabricate, repair, maintain and install and/or repair metal components. Identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with appropriate codes, law, working practices and health and safety. Clean and maintain all equipment and tools and maintain a clean working area. Carry out tasks to meet applicable safety standards, targets, criteria, deadlines, maximizing productivity and profitability. Carry out tasks within the prescribed time limits. Assist team members on projects to ensure efficient operations and to ensure targets are met. Comply with and adherence to all health and safety policies, procedures, and best practices. Adhere to all quality policies and procedures. Work according to company shift structure, which includes night shift. Execute any other reasonable instruction by your supervisor or management. Minimum of 5 years' experience as an arc welder is essential. ISO 9606 or AWS D1.1 welder performance qualification essential OR alternative certifications and qualifications as approved by IWE. CJP welds on thick sections preferred. Experience with welding dissimilar materials is essential. Experience with welding heavy sections essential. Experience with GMAW or MIG or MAG welding essential. Welding courses/certificate/qualification and/or Welder Trade Test advantageous. IIW International Welding Certificate advantageous. Experience with electrical heat treatment and preheating equipment will be advantageous. Apply Now
