As a Boilermaker, you will be responsible to fabricate, assemble, install, structures,cutes,hoppers, and maintain boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, and other equipment in a process plant setting. Ensure the integrity and functionality of metal structures to support efficient and safe plant operations. • Welding AND Boiler Making work. • Identify SHEQ risks and risk elimination initiatives through conducting daily micro risk assessments before work commences. • Undertake pre-work site inspections in order to comply with all health and safety regulations • Inspect and report any defects plant / equipment • Welding material and/or parts using gas flame, or an electric arc (Shield metal/MIG), argon gas shielded welding, or other methods. • All welding preparation (Boiler Making). • Brazing metal parts together. • Cutting metal using gas flame or an electric arc/plasma. • Joining metal parts by hand soldering. • Appropriate heat treatment of welded materials/parts/equipment. • Monitoring the fitting, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material. • Examining work pieces for defects and measuring work pieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. • The safe and responsible inspection, use and maintenance of power tools/equipment and lifting equipment. • Ensure site compliance to all labour, safety and environmental regulations. • Prepare management reporting as required. • Work and related (material, equipment, consumables, testing, etc.) planning for construction and/or repairs. • The design (simple design), building, repair and maintenance of material handling/processing equipment and TMM related parts/equipment. • Ensure that Health and safety requirements are being met by supporting and participating in regular Health & Safety meetings. • Ensure preventative maintenance and repairs of all material handling and processing systems and equipment. • Accurate measurement and testing. • General mechanical, boiler making and welding work for mining and beneficiation/processing equipment (including TMMs). • Marking sheet metal for cutting and shaping. • Making and repairing boilers, tanks, vats and similar containers. • Converting blueprints into shop drawings to be followed in the construction and assembly of sheet metal products. • Determining project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences, and required methods and materials, according to blueprints, drawings, and written or verbal instructions. • Inspecting product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications. • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout, assembly, and installation of metal components • Fabricate and assemble metal structures, including boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, and piping systems, using hand tools, welding equipment, and machinery • Cut, shape, and weld metal pieces to precise measurements and specifications, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to safety standards • Install and align fabricated components according to layout plans, equipment manuals, and engineering drawings • Conduct inspections of welded joints and metal structures to identify defects and ensure compliance with quality standards and codes • Repair or replace damaged or worn parts of other equipment to maintain optimal performance and safety • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts, to prevent equipment breakdowns and prolong service life • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other tradespeople to plan and execute construction and maintenance projects effectively • Adhere to safety procedures and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the implementation of lockout/tagout procedures • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance activities • Grade 12 • Qualified Boilermaker (Red Seal - Compulsory) • 5 years' experience as a Boilermaker on a process plant • Welder trade test (with boiler making experience) or Boiler Maker with welding type certification • N3 Welder/Boiler Maker qualification • 5 years working experience, with welding type certification • Welding Type Certified for Construction Industry with experience will be Advantageous
