A Logistics Company is looking for a Workshop Manager in Zambia - Chingolla with a possible move to Ndola Key Responsibilities - Manage and supervise the workshop team, including mechanics and technicians. - Oversee the maintenance and repair of horses (trucks) and trailers, ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. - Develop and implement maintenance schedules for the fleet to minimize downtime and ensure reliability. - Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with vehicles and equipment. - Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed. - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. - Manage the procurement of parts and equipment needed for repairs and maintenance. - Monitor and control workshop costs, ensuring budget adherence. - Train and mentor workshop staff, promoting continuous improvement and skill development. - Liaise with fleet managers and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and prioritize urgent repairs. Requirements: - Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or similar role, preferably in a large fleet environment. - Strong technical knowledge of horses (trucks) and trailers. - Excellent leadership and team management skills. - Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and technical issues effectively. - Familiarity with maintenance scheduling and workshop management software. - Strong organizational and communication skills. - Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of work. - Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements. - Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively. Qualifications: - Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field. - Certification as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent qualification. - Relevant experience in managing a large fleet workshop.
