Our client is seeking and experienced finance person for the role of Assistant: Accountant & APDP Controller within their team. Requirements: Degree in Accounting and / or Finance 3 years related work experience in Finance Department Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and SAP Display knowledge of accounting principles, and apply these to job Posses a strong knowledge of system procedures relating to general ledger and payables processing and fixed asset systems Display attention to detail Team –orientation with good verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build relationships effectively Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment Motivated self starter and able to work independently, and to manage time effectively About the job: Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets. Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies relating to fixed assets. Record fixed assets acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system Assign tag numbers to fixed assets Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary–level account in the general ledger Calculate all depreciation for all fixed assets Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation. Calculate asset retirement obligations for those fixed assets to which AROs are applicable Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets and make recommendations to management Conduct periodic physical inventory counts for fixed assets Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their
