We are looking for a Building Physics Modeller to provide parametric and compliance modelling for buildings' energy performance, thermal comfort, and daylight evaluation. The job description includes rational design modelling for SANS 10400-XA compliance, and Green Star and LEED consulting services. We are looking for someone with a solid understanding of mechanical systems in building and a willingness to learn and apply new processes. The candidate must possess a passion for driving decarbonization in design as a sustainability with a particular focus on the built environment as a means to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate against climate change. Key Responsibilities: Building Physics analysis and building optimization via building modelling software (IES, Energy Plus, Revit) Report writing (energy, thermal comfort, SANS 10400-XA, overheating modelling, CFD, daylight, and daylight glare modelling) Sustainability consulting on Green Star, EDGE and LEED projects. Advocate building initiatives that serve to enhance indoor environmental quality for people and reduce the carbon emissions contribution from buildings. Key Competencies: Ability to model in IES, Energy Plus and Revit Good planning skills Good report writing and communication skills Practical mechanical experience advantageous Experience working in the sustainability or green building field advantageous Green Star / LEED / EDGE accreditation advantageous Building physics performance analysis and audits advantageous ASHRAE / CIBSE commissioning advantageous Health and Safety: Role model standards for SHEQ performance and behaviour consistent with the company's health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies by influencing those around you Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm Embracing, displaying and promoting the company values and ensuring a safe working environment is maintained at all times Qualifications B.Eng. / B.Sc. /Building engineering physics / B.Arch 2 years experience with modelling programs e.g. IES, Design Builder, Energy Plus, Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and/ or other modelling software Additional Information What's in it for you?
