Cell C is currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to join our dynamic team. Job Title: Senior Financial Reporting Analyst Location: Permanent Job Summary: Duties & Responsibilities: To support the timely and accurate financial and management reporting processes and rigorous analysis. Represents the department in the company, if required, and coaches and supports the development of junior assigned to him/her. Job Summary: Main Responsibilities: Financial analysis and Management reporting Preparing financial analysis aimed at understanding the current and expected performance of the company. Such analyses are done in the context of actual performance against plans (Budgets) and forecast and drilling on key problem areas to understand root causes. Identifying and exploring possible solutions to issues impacting financial performance. Investigating and answering questions within the scope of the role’s responsibility. Gathering and validating the integrity of information from different sources (systems and departments) required for financial analysis. Such information includes operational KPIs and financial data such as: Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow performance and articulate this in the Monthly Management Report (MMR), Investor, Shareholder and other ad-hoc reporting. Identify trends and provide appropriate commentary. Responsibility for Capex, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow variance analysis against budget/forecast and prior periods. Review significant Balance Sheet accounts to verify the outputs and understand variances affecting financial reporting. Financial Accounting: Prepare Reporting related journals, including consolidation journals. Review complex transactions for appropriate IFRS application including changes in accounting policies. Prepare technical accounting opinions in conjunction with the business Prepare Annual Financial Statements Financial Reporting: Supporting the preparation of financial reports such as: Annual, Quarterly and Monthly financial reports including reporting to Blue Label Telecoms, Management, shareholder and investors (Market update) reports Monitor the activity within operational finance and other relevant areas of the business to ensure that the transactional processing is completed according to predefined timelines for group reporting. Reviewing the financial reports, identifying and correcting inconsistencies between different data sources, identifying trends, providing appropriate commentary, and ensuring an appropriate level of insight on the performance of the company. Data Integrity and automation: Ensure that final numbers reported are correctly reflected in the Cell C ERP system (Oracle and Workiva). Participate in automation of MMR and AFS in Workiva (Reporting Platform). Contribute to the improvement in automation of new reports where appropriate. Monitor the changes between systems, additions of general ledger accounts and update the mappings to reflect the most up to date data. Key Stakeholders support (Ad hoc reporting) Provide support to the tax department where needed Prepare regulatory returns as requested by the relevant authorities (ICASA, SARB, StatsSA, etc.) Key Interfaces: Reinforce the following interdependencies: Operational Finance (Accounting team): Understand the processing of accounting transactions. Obtain information for financial reporting disclosures. Budget & Forecasting: Interact to understand basis of preparation of budget to assist variance analysis Desired Experience & Qualification: Qualifications: Degree in BCom Honours, BCompt, or similar with Completed CA Articles CA (SA) an advantage Experience 5 years minimum experience (inclusive of articles) in financial reporting or financial management Telecommunications / IT industry experience advantage Competencies Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle and Workiva an advantage) Excel, Word and Power Point Presentation proficiency a must Attention to detail Ability to work independently and to influence Report Writing Deadline driven Technically strong in IFRS To Apply: Click Here Apply Now
