CLIENT in the HEAVY ENGINEERING MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY requires the services of a CNC MACHINE SHOP CHARGEHAND at their premises in PIETERMARITZBURG (KZN) as soon as possible. Main Job responsibilities: ➢ Ensure planned maintenance schedules are carried out as instructed , and where necessary assistance is given to the artisan or artisans responsible for carrying out the tasks ➢ Attend breakdowns and carry out necessary repairs in the shortest possible time ➢ Manage the CNC and machine shop team for efficient support to the factory artisans ➢ Accurately record all work done on job cards or on planned maintenance schedules ➢ Report all serious defects or defects which could not be repaired , to the section foreman or engineering manager ➢ Carry out safety inspections on equipment and plant as instructed. ➢ Undertake installation and modification of equipment and plant as instructed ➢ Undertake any reasonable request of the section foreman or engineering manager. ➢ Stand by Cover Qualification and Experience: ➢ Minimum N2 in a mechanical field ➢ Recognized trade test as Turner or tool maker ➢ 5 year's experience in a maintenance machine shop or tool room ➢ Preferred experience in a charge hand or foreman position Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: ➢ Extensive Knowledge and understanding of machine shop practices and the operations of CNC mills. ➢ Critical thinker ➢ Must be able to work under pressure with breakdowns. ➢ Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings. ➢ Ability to work accurately, neatly, and efficiently. ➢ Good communication skills with management and fellow employees. ➢ Proficiently in MS Office. SALARY BETWEEN R250K - R300K PER ANNUM
