A vacancy exists at the Pietermaritzburg site for a Mechanical Charge - Hand reporting to the Engineering Manager. To effectively manage a team of fitters to provide maintenance to machines and equipment within Engineering Department. Responsible for the ordering of spare parts and replacement equipment to efficiently repair and fit to machines. Effective management of root cause analysis of plant and process malfunctions and to implement corrective measures. Comply and enforce the Engineering Safety procedures according to the OSH Act Ensure and maintain safe working conditions for employees and equipment based on risk assessments and compliance with OHS Act. Ensure workplace discipline and manage employee issues in line with company policies and procedures. Matric Trade Tested Fitter 8 to 10 years' experience managing a team of Fitters within a Maintenance Department Working knowledge, trouble shooting, diagnosing and repairing equipment in a medium to heavy Engineering Industry. Previous experience in a Cable Manufacturing environment will advantageous Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
