A company in Ottery, Cape Town is looking for a Chartered Accountant.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure tasks are completed in accordance with accounting standards.
Prepares monthly management accounts and reconciliations.
Adheres to agreed deadlines.
Assists Financial Manager as needed.
Supports auditors with year-end audits.
Remains up to date with latest Income Tax Act changes.
Supervises integrity of the payroll system, including capturing of payroll, payment of employees and maintaining employee permanent files in line with all legal requirements.
Completion and submission of statutory returns, including, but not limited to VAT201’s, EMP201’s, EMP501’s, COIDA etc.
Maintains fixed asset register.

Desired Experience & Qualification

BCom Honors degree majoring in financial accounting together with SAICA registration.
Is an independent self-starter who uses their excellent attention to detail and work ethic to deliver OTIF.
Has a proven track record of at least 2-3 years in a financial accounting/ audit role demonstrating excellent attention to detail.
Manufacturing experience is A MUST.
Has strong systems aptitude and ability to think on their feet.
Has good interpersonal skills that enable them to communicate and work well as part of a team.
Has strong computer literacy and experience working on financial systems in a financial accounting role (Syspro, Sage).
Has strong problem solving and decision-making skills together with a “can do” attitude for getting things done.
Strong leadership potential and ability to challenge accountability in team environment.
Demonstrates strong accountability and willingness to engage and deliver in line with agreed deadlines.
Strong leadership potential, demonstrating good self-insight and willingness to grow and learn.
