Crop Manager - Durban
The incumbent will report to the Estate Agricultural Manager and will lead and manage farm operational activities to maintain and grow the sugar cane production capacity of the cane growing area. The incumbent will further be responsible for managing all operations on the farm including budgets, human resources, environmental and risk management
Key performance areas
• Maintaining and growing the supply of good quality sugar cane on the farm
• Developing work programs to ensure achievement of Crop Forecasts
• Developing, reviewing and controlling operational budgets
• Managing all aspects of the cane growing operations from crop husbandry, crop removal and all ancillary support services such as vehicle fleet management
• Managing farm safety ,health ,environment and risk
• Managing farm assets and infrastructure
• Managing local farm forums
Minimum specifications / Requirements areas
• A Degree in Agriculture
• At least 5-10 years’ experience in the field of sugar cane production.
• Transport and Logistic Qualification would be an added advantage
• Good disciplinary and attendance records
• Have good understanding of OHS Act.
• Have a valid Drivers license
