Key Responsibilities:- Routine Maintenance:
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on diesel forklifts, including inspections, lubrication, and fluid checks, to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks as recommended by the manufacturer.
- Diagnostic and Repairs:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with diesel forklifts, addressing both minor and major malfunctions promptly.
- Execute timely and efficient repairs to minimize downtime and maintain a reliable fleet of forklifts.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all forklifts meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct safety inspections and implement necessary repairs to guarantee a safe working environment.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Log repairs, parts used, and other relevant information in the maintenance database.
- Collaboration:
- Coordinate with the warehouse and production teams to schedule maintenance activities during non-production hours to minimize disruptions.
- Communicate effectively with other mechanics and relevant departments to address and resolve issues promptly.
- Parts Management:
- Manage inventory of spare parts and order supplies as needed for forklift maintenance.
- Keep a well-organized and efficient parts storage system.
- Training and Development:
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in diesel forklift mechanics through continuous learning.
- Provide guidance and training to junior mechanics or apprentices as needed.
Qualifications:- Proven experience as a Diesel Forklift Mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems specific to forklifts.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills related to forklift mechanics.
- Familiarity with maintenance and repair tools and equipment used in forklift maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in forklift mechanics is a plus.
Physical Requirements: The position may require the ability to lift heavy equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
