Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Location: Beeshoek, Northern Cape Job Type: Full-time Job Description: RPO's client is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with a focus on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines in a timely and efficient manner. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance on diesel engines, troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues, performing engine overhauls, and making necessary repairs to ensure the proper functioning of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities: - Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including changing oil, filters, and fluids - Diagnose mechanical issues with diesel engines and determine the best course of action for repair - Conduct engine overhauls when necessary, including rebuilding engines and replacing worn parts - Repair and replace faulty components, such as fuel systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems - Test-drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning and performance of diesel engines - Keep accurate records of work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and repair costs - Adhere to safety protocols and regulations when working on diesel engines - Maintain a clean and organized work environment Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a operational Diesel Mechanic Minimum of 2 years operational earth moving equipment experience Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines Knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify engine problems Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver's license and clean driving record Certification in Diesel Mechanics is a plus Benefits: Salary: negotiable Performance Bonus Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity) Paid Time Off (PTO) (if applicable) Contact RPO Recruitment for your next career opportunity.
