MARULA PLATINUM LIMITED INTERNAL/EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT DIESEL MECHANICIAN - C2 DATE OF DISTRIBUTION 19 May 2023 CLOSING DATE 28 May 2023 PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel equipment of heavyweight/lightweight motor vehicles including engines, transmission, suspension, hydraulics, steering and brakes in order to comply with the required standard and legislation MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS N3 - Mechanical (Trade Theory, Maths, Science, Technical Drawing) is considered essential. A valid Trade Certificate: Diesel Mech (Section 13) is essential 1-3 years Qualified Diesel Mechanic on Earth moving equipment working experience essential Knowledge/ exposure with regards to maintenance, service and repair of diesel power mobile equipment will be advantages. Relevant training will be provided to successful applicants Valid medical certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate is essential DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES: To conduct scheduled maintenance and services To check and if required replace parts, oil, air, fuel, filters as per maintenances schedule. To service maintain and repair brake and steering components. check, top up or replace fluids such as oil, brake fluids, coolant according to OEM standards. To conduct fault finding on all types of diesels- and petrol-powered machines Do standby, work overtime and call outs as required Complete job cards, other workshop administration, legal / inspection registers as required To repair and rebuild engines, transmission and differentials.
