Electrical Maintenance & Repairs Electrical Maintenance: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to minimise downtime and ensure smooth operations. Installation: Install, wire, and connect various electrical components, including motors, lighting, and control panels, as per the project requirements. Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical issues and provide effective solutions to restore equipment to working order promptly Repairs : Repair or replace defective or worn electrical parts, such as switches, fuses, and wiring, to maintain operational efficiency. Safety Compliance : Ensure all electrical work is performed in compliance with South African Electrical codes and safety standards to protect employees and company assets. Collaboration : Work closely with other maintenance and production teams to ensure the uninterrupted operation of manufacturing processes. Emergency response : Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and breakdowns, providing quick and effective solutions. Tools and Equipment : Properly use and maintain tools, instruments, and testing equipment necessary for electrical work. Electrically troubleshoot / fault finding and repair all electronic components in plant. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Earth leakage and installation testing. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices, to ensure compatibility and safety of plant. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with health and safety; and Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Read and interpret sketches, drawings and blueprints to perform work to specified standards. Maintain routine records and logs of inspections, maintenance, repairs and work orders. Liaise with the Production Manager with regards to routine service schedule. Perform highly diversified electrical duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment. Provide emergency/unscheduled electrical maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Maintain clean and orderly work areas. Proper handover of plant and equipment after shutdowns or repair work done; and Provide estimate of time, materials and equipment required for assigned tasks and maintain records of work performed and parts used. Attend and facilitate Toolbox talks. Adhere to reasonable and lawful instructions. Standby Duties Perform standby duties as necessary and be available for telephonic consultation or callouts if required. Safety and Housekeeping If SHEQ hazards and risks are identified to notify the relevant supervisor immediately. Comply with SHEQ Standards of the employer. Ensure that all safety and housekeeping standards and regulations are adhered to. Ensure that the correct PPE is always worn/used. Ensure to maintaining housekeeping standards within pre-determined standards and regulations Promote occupational health and safety within the organization and develop safer and healthier working standards and always put the safety of your colleagues first. Grade 12 / N3 2-3 years' experience within the same or similar environment Trade tested Electrician Mechanical Engineering / Electrical / Millwright Qualification; Proficient in Microsoft Office Driver's License (Code 8)- essential.
