Exciting opportunity for a driven and innovative Estimator to be based in Durban, South Africa. ABOUT OUR CLIENT Our client is a JSE listed shipping & freight logistics company with a global footprint allowing for first class cross border logistics, connecting Africa's commodities with the world. JOB SUMMARY The Estimator will be responsible for identifying and sourcing competitive rates and submitting proposals/quotations to customers to assist in concluding business deals. The Estimator will assist new customers and service providers with business implementation processes and ensure they are properly embedded into our client’s business processes. THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT In order to be shortlisted for this role, you have the following skills and experience, but not limited to:- Sales and Marketing Degree/Diploma or similar. 3-5 years’ working experience in the shipping industry covering exposure to imports and exports of cargo in containers, break bulk, bulk as well as dangerous goods. Good understanding of supply chain and logistics industry with sound knowledge of cross border movements and associated procedures and documentation required Sound knowledge of INCOTERMS JOB DESCRIPTION The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:- Customer Care To respond promptly to customer queries and requests. Collect and update information from service providers New Sales Opportunities Research and analyse new logistics opportunities and product flows by means of quotations, lost customers, competitor activities etc. Negotiate rates with service providers – transporters and shipping lines. Arrange and conduct site visits for customers/potential customers as and when required. Reporting and Administration Prepare and provide reports to the line manager Maintain service provider and client information on ongoing basis Complete your performance review and attend to recommended training interventions.
