The Opportunity Roche Diagnostics in Midrand is seeking an External Affairs Lead to identify, develop and uphold relationships with key audiences, to influence the diagnostics strategy within the network and to build on the understanding of social, legal, ethical and commercial developments within the health sector. You as our successful candidate will design and implement stakeholder engagement strategies for customer groups and markets within the Southern African Network that develop and grow meaningful relationships that enable the communication of Roche’s strategic priorities to relevant stakeholders and to develop and drive the implementation of patient access strategies. Key Challenges Stakeholder Engagement Strategy Develop and manage Stakeholder Engagement Strategy for Roche Southern Africa, aligned with the overall Pan African organizational strategy. Lead the identification and development of networks of Key Opinion Leaders, Stakeholders, national and regional NGO's, and other Public Health Organizations. Develop and maintain effective relationships with national and provincial/state governments, their associated authorities, and relevant government departments. Track, analyze, and report on significant changes within government departments that may impact Roche and the company's strategic portfolios. Advocacy Advocate for policy amendment by building key networks, identifying and engaging with key decision makers, providing policy based inputs and support and facilitating policy amendments and development. Government Affairs and Public Health Organizations Relations Lead the team in a manner that contributes to the success of the broader success of Roche on the African Continent. Contribute to the broader development of the Network by driving appropriate innovation and disruptive approaches to ensure the competitiveness of the function and the broader Roche organization. Overall Leadership Develop health systems and market access strategy by understanding policy environments, health issues, and opportunities. Define an integrated access plan across public and private sectors by analyzing strategies and engaging with key stakeholders. Build innovative access solutions by researching global trends, testing solutions, and managing implementation. Lead the implementation of the integrated medical, access, and policy plan in collaboration with stakeholders. Drive access to Roche's strategic portfolios by addressing patient challenges. Lead the process of Patient Journey Mapping with the Africa Chapter Team. Medical, Access and Policy Management Develop health systems and market access strategy aligned with organizational strategy and vision annually. Define integrated access plan across public and private sectors annually Build innovative access solutions by researching global trends and piloting solutions Lead implementation of integrated access plan in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders Drive access to Roche's strategic portfolios by helping to solve challenges affecting patients upstream or downstream of the lab Lead the process of Patient Journey Mapping in conjunction with the Market Access Team and other functions. Staff Leadership & Management Define staff requirements, resourcing the team by retaining, recruiting, selecting and appointing staff as required, inducting new staff members, monitoring and managing performance and managing staff development. Note that a full job description is available upon request. Who you Are: You have a NQF 7 / 8 in a relevant scientific or medical field. You have 10 years experience in health sciences or equivalent with a strong track record in policy, market access, stakeholder engagement and/or government affairs. You have 8 years management experience and 2-3 years people leadership experience. Knowledge of Africa healthcare systems will be advantageous.
