FABRICATION FOREMAN

(Pipe Shop, Panel Shop & Ancillary Shop). In Manufacturing Business industry.
Individuals who have initiative and drive and can work under the pressure of handling several major projects simultaneously.
QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12
Artisan, preference will be given to Welding or Boilermaker qualifications
Technical qualification with manufacturing and or welding inspection experience will also be considered
Training/certification or experience in Factory Management/Planning and/or IR will be advantageous
Operations/Production Management or N4 and above will be an added advantage
EXPERIENCE
10 years minimum in a steel fabrication environment (heavy engineering i.e. welding & boiler making will be preferable)
3 years supervision experience with a proven track record
3 years pressure parts manufacturing experience
Proven track record in dealing with factory IR issues (disciplinary enquiries, grievances etc.)
You must be prepared to undertake a number of tests (psychometric and medical) that will demonstrate your ability in this field
Computer Literacy at intermediate level
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that their Shops adhere to relevant manufacturing standards and policies, as governed by the ISO 9001 (2015) quality management system
Ensure that products are manufactured within the allocated time
To manage production costs and recovery hours effectively on a daily basis
To manage primary levels of IR issues within your plant
To maximise outputs and ensure smooth running of the plant
The candidate must be prepared to work night shift and overtime when required.
Please note, night shift could be requested on a rotational basis for extended periods of time.
Document controller in terms of ISO 9001 experience related to "control of documents and records". Reporting to the manufacturing PM, will manage full project scope incl. production management. Must be able to read & understand engineering drawings.
