Reference: HQ000680-pn-2 Our client based in Pinetown, Durban, specialises in the supply of cutting-edge mining, earthmoving, construction and agriculture equipment. As the largest dealer for Liebherr and Bell Equipment in East, West, Central and Southern Africa, and distribution centers across the continent. Role: Field Service Technician : Earth Moving Equipment Location : Pinetown, Durban SA Education and experience: Minimum 5 year's experience in a related field of work Qualified Diesel/Earthmoving Mechanic – Trade Tested. Valid Driver's Licence Required Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Strong technical and troubleshooting skills. Proficiency in computers and Windows packages is strongly preferred. Strong organization and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and without close supervision. Strong customer relations skills. Responsibilities: Diagnose, inspect, recondition, repair, assemble, and service equipment as assigned by the Workshop Manager. Document machine information and repairs completed on Job Cards and responsible for submitting accurate Daily Reports and other required paperwork. Assist in composing quotations for repairs and servicing. Maintain technical and product knowledge on all Machines and participate in available company-sponsored training, to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set. Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as per company regulations. Always maintain excellent housekeeping. Maintain a clean work area, as well as care for all workshop tools, machines, and equipment. Conduct self in the presence of customers and community to present a professional image of the company. Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner. Must be available to work overtime, weekends and stand by when necessary and at short notice. Health and safety in the workplace and on-site. Submit weekly vehicle inspections and vehicle log book to the Workshop manager. Adhere to the warranty process as per OEM recommendations, from start to finish. Maintain an organized inventory of tools. Mentor junior technicians/apprentices through the apprentice program.
