Financial Systems Implementation Consultant - Pretoria

A boutique financial services company is seeking a finance professional interested in transitioning into an implementation role and moving away from routine accounting tasks. The focus is on becoming a Financial Systems Implementation Specialist while leveraging accounting skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Systems & Technology and enjoy solving complex problems.

The role involves carrying out implementations of Treasury Management Systems & Solutions for a niche market and providing support to existing clients. The goal is to empower CFOs and their teams to transform liquidity activation as a dynamic, real-time vehicle for growth and value creation, while also protecting against financial risk. The pioneering Active Liquidity Network connects internal applications for treasury, risk, payments, and working capital with vital external sources such as banks, ERPs, trading platforms, and market data providers.

About The Role: Join a dynamic team of Professional Services individuals who help clients gain more control over their treasury, risk & liquidity operations and processes. The Implementation Consultant is responsible for leading the design, implementation, configuration, and training of various modules and functions within the TMS application. You will help clients make strategic & informed decisions to automate processes, reduce inefficiencies, and optimize opportunities, potentially impacting their bottom line. While becoming proficient in tools and systems, you will acquire deeper knowledge of treasury systems and risk management methodologies. The role offers opportunities for interesting and challenging assignments across industries and geographies, involving project work, business development, and other activities, including personalized training to help you grow as a consultant.

Duties Include:

  • Work with your manager to develop a personalized training plan for growth to learn new skills & modules.
  • Lead solution design workshops with customers.
  • Deliver the solution design document (Blueprint).
  • Design and deliver innovative solutions based on the client’s business requirements.
  • Configure & test solutions/workflow in the client database for various modules.
  • Assist customers in testing phases prior to go-live and provide go-live support.
  • Lead training sessions and create custom training agendas.
  • Lead meetings and drive issues to resolution.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the resolution on complex designs and solutions.
  • Apply TMS Implementation Methodology and Project Management best practices to all client implementations.
  • Ensure all tasks and deliverables are completed based on project plans, and progress is tracked in project management software.
  • Ensure timesheets are entered accurately and on time.

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Finance / Investments / Economics).
  • 5+ years of work experience preferred in corporate treasury, treasury management system implementations, professional services, or other relevant accounting experience.
  • Knowledge in functions such as Cash Management & Forecasting, Connectivity, Payments, FX Exposure Management, Financial Transactions, General Ledger, Financial Accounting, Hedge Accounting, ERP Integrations & Risk Management is a plus.
  • Exposure to ERP / Financial Systems / Treasury Management Systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and analytical.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and enjoys coming up with innovative solutions.
  • Critical thinking and out-of-the-box solution approach.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
