Flatdeck/Breakbulk Controller - - Alrode

Our client, a leader in the logistics industry, is seeking a highly organized and dynamic Flatdeck/Breakbulk Controller to join their team. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient management and coordination of flatdeck and breakbulk cargo operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations related to the handling, loading, and transportation of breakbulk cargo, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

Operations Management: Oversee and coordinate the loading, stowage, securing, and unloading of breakbulk and flatdeck cargo.
Route Planning: Develop and implement effective routing plans to optimize delivery schedules and minimize transportation costs.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with industry safety standards and legal regulations.
Documentation: Manage all necessary documentation related to cargo, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and customs paperwork.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, shipping lines, and ground staff, ensuring clear communication and resolution of any issues.
Cost Control: Monitor expenses related to cargo handling and transportation, ensuring operations stay within budget.
Team Coordination: Lead and supervise a team of operators, providing training and support as needed to meet operational goals.
Problem Resolution: Quickly address and resolve any operational challenges or discrepancies that arise during cargo handling and transportation.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
At least 3-5 years of experience in logistics or cargo management, with specific experience in flatdeck and breakbulk operations.
Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of relevant legal regulations and industry safety standards.
Certification in logistics or supply chain management preferred.
