KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS Global Clinical Services Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive and tailored clinical services strategy aligned with the company's business goals and objectives. This involves assessing market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and driving innovation in clinical service delivery. Global Clinical Operations Oversight: Provide oversight and strategic direction for clinical operations across all divisions; ensuring consistency in clinical standards, practices, and quality of care delivery while accommodating divisional variations and regulatory requirements. Clinical Governance and Quality Assurance: Establish and oversee robust clinical governance structures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and best practices in healthcare delivery. Implement quality assurance programs to monitor and improve clinical outcomes, patient safety, and satisfaction. Risk Management and Compliance: Lead efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate clinical risks on a global scale, including regulatory compliance, patient safety, and legal liabilities. Implementing robust risk management strategies and protocols to safeguard the organisation's reputation and financial stability. Clinical Performance Management: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and evaluate clinical performance across the organisation. Analyse data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and drive initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and efficiency. Clinical Excellence and Innovation: Champion a culture of clinical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the organisation. This includes fostering a supportive environment for research, evidence-based practice, and the adoption of new technologies and treatment modalities. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Build and nurture strategic relationships with key stakeholders, (incl. healthcare providers, regulatory agencies, professional organisations and industry partners) to advocate for clinical interests and foster collaboration towards shared goals. Client Experience: Set and drive strategic direction for client experience through the integration of patient-centred care principles, data-driven insights and interdisciplinary collaboration to optimise the overall quality of healthcare delivery across divisions. Leadership: Lead and manage a diverse team of clinical professionals located in different divisions. REQUIRED EDUCATION Essential Education: MBChB or relevant graduate medical degree Medical specialist qualification Registration with relevant clinical practice governing body as a clinical specialist (e.g. HPCSA) REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Essential Minimum Experience: 5 - 8 years clinical practice experience as a specialist medical practitioner At least 10 years experience in a senior clinical and strategic leadership role in a healthcare environment Desired Experience: Relevant experience in global healthcare systems/multinational healthcare organisation, regulatory requirements, and quality standards Experience in managing clinical operations across geographies REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Healthcare Industry Expertise Healthcare regulations Risk Management principles Health information management principles Data analytics and metrics Business Acumen Performance Management Knowledge and interpretation of research methodologies All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
