Our client in the retail clothing sector has a need for an experienced and all-rounder Head of IT to join their management team. Imperative in this role is the previous experience and understanding of the RETAIL industry (business processes and systems. Purpose of the role: With the growth experienced in, primarily, the Retail space of the greater group, a need has arisen to bring in the experience and skills of a dynamic and strategic Senior IT individual to service the Retail needs as well as provide support and direction to the Group. Retail comprises two companies covering 3 brands and operating across the country serviced from Head Office in KZN. The majority of the IT needs, complexity and connectivity demands sit within the Retail business, however support and guidance is needed to align best practice across the group. Key Performance Areas ( including but not limited to ): Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems Establishing and managing multi system integrations Strong change management Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices Good knowledge of enterprise-wide risk management principles and policies Good understanding of enterprise value management Basic knowledge of relevant financial and company legislation Good knowledge of business internal controls and systems Good knowledge of corporate governance principles and policies Good knowledge of relevant policies and procedures Good understanding of core business principles Good understanding of management of Business Information Systems Retail experience beneficial Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field At least 5 years’ experience managing IT Operations Degree required Experience working with an ERP and POS system Key Competencies: Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent understanding of IT architecture and multiple system integrations Good management skills. Ability to problem solve. Good knowledge of statutory legislation and regulations Good interpersonal and communication skills High level of self-motivation and determination Well organized and structured Deadline Driven
