Position: Information Technology Administrator Location: Durbanville, Cape Town Salary: R40,000 -R50,000 CTC (Dependent on experience) We have partnered with an engineering company deeply committed to investing in Engineering, Construction, and Infrastructure Development who are currently seeking an Information Technology Administrator to manage IT user ID's & authorisation, manage service delivery operations, manage infrastructure resource administration, operate IT user support and conduct IT administration for the IT department. The preferred candidate would need to show the ability to supervise operating tasks to ensure productivity and will report directly to the IT Manager. Roles and Responsibilities System Maintenance and Support: Ensure the optimal operation of computer systems and servers, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of server hardware and software. Manage server virtualization technologies to enhance scalability and performance. Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures, update systems for vulnerabilities, manage backups, and disaster recovery operations. Network Administration: Maintain network equipment, monitor performance, and ensure system reliability and availability. Active Directory Management: Administer Active Directory environment, including account management, group policy creation and management, and integration with other services. Office 365 Administration: Manage and support Office 365 services, including email, SharePoint, and collaboration tools. Jira Ticketing System Management: Oversee and administer the Jira ticketing system, ensuring it effectively tracks, manages, and resolves IT support tickets and project tasks. ERP Administration: Manage the ERP system to provide support, user account management, maintenance, and enhancements. IT User Support: Communicate with end users to accurately diagnose faults, set up new accounts, and resolve password issues via various support channels, including face-to-face and remote desktop connections. IT Assets: Manage IT assets, including tagging computers and printers, updating registers, and handling equipment logistics. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain precise documentation for systems and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the IT team and other departments to foster a collaborative environment and ensure that IT solutions align with business objectives Qualification, Experience and Requirements Information Technology Diploma (NQF6) A minimum of 5 years' experience as a system administrator, with advanced proficiency in both Linux and Windows server environments Server Virtualisation (XenServer / XCP-NG Advantageous) Office 365 Administration, Azure and AWS Administration Certificates in MCSA, MTCIP, CompTIA Server, CCNA, MTCRE Citrix Valid driver's license and Own reliable vehicle Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Expertise in server management, data encryption, and virtualization technologies. Proficient in managing the Jira ticketing system, Sage X3 ERP (Advantageous), Active Directory, and Office 365. Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and VPNs. Advanced troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. • Leadership qualities and team collaboration. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
