This role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and report to the Chief Trading Officer. Job Purpose: To develop, manage and execute the supplier strategy in order to maximise brand profitability and to enable the delivery of the operating plan. Job Objectives: To develop the supplier profitability strategy, trading terms, co-op, new suppliers, settlement discounts, and SLA to maximise revenue in support of the Clicks sales and GP plans To manage the end to end promotional strategy in collaboration with suppliers to maintain infill targets To manage top suppliers including annual trade negotiations, contract renewal, and on-going category coordination including half yearly negotiations and review of performance of suppliers. To define the annual trading terms process, and requirements for new suppliers and maintain an up to date supplier database including supplier contracts and trading terms. To deliver on Co-Op and other income streams performance against plan and support the development of the category team supplier strategy To develop comprehensive contracts for the merchandise teams for various suppliers to reduce legal risk and provide advice on all contracting issues to suppliers and merchandise team. To support the delivery of the SED, preferential procurement and localisation targets in order to achieve the Group's Transformation agenda To seek opportunities to improve working capital through the on-going review of payment days To build a high performing team that delivers against the operating plan Minimum requirements Job related knowledge & skills: Business Development and Commercial experience in a retail environment Consumer Protection Act and BBBEE Competitions act Contracting & Compliance Financial Acumen Knowledge of SME growth programmes and excellent industry networks Microsoft Office Attention to detail Analytical skills Contract negotiation and conflict management skills Strong networking skills to build important industry relationship Commercial case building Job experience: Minimum 10 years' experience in the Commercial environment, preferable retail Proven negotiation skills 5 - 7 years project management experience Education: Essential: B-Degree in Business Management, Business Science, Entrepreneurship, Economics , Finance or related Essential Competencies: Deciding and Initiating Action Leading and Supervising Relating and Networking Persuading and Influencing Analysing Delivering Results & Meeting Customer Expectations Formulating Strategies and Concepts Coping with Pressures and Setbacks Entrepreneurial and Commercial Thinking Apply Now
