The successful candidate will provide general legal support and advise to the Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks and activities below: Commercial and Contract Management / Legal Advice Provides advice on all corporate, commercial and company and property law related matters linked to new projects Aligns projects to legislative requirements and business requirements. Drafts and / or reviews all legal documents and agreements - shareholder agreements, management services agreements, sales of shares and sales of business agreements etc Provides support and advises on management of legal issues arising from Franchising Portfolio Assisting with management and maintenance of IP portfolio Liaising with various business units and outside counsel on various legal matter Dispute Resolution and Managing Debt Recoveries Franchise Portfolio. Supports the business with expertise and processes to assist with the resolving of legal disputes Submitting and following up on claims to Liquidators, Trustees and Executors Drafting Acknowledgements of Debt and Loan agreements, where requiredInstructing and liaising with panel of attorneys to issue summons for the recovery of the outstanding monies and management of legal costs associated with recoveries. (Legal collection) Drafting Letters of Demand on defaulting franchisees. Provides support and advises on all legal recoveries Liaising with external counsel on the management of legal disputes and court or arbitration matters General Legal Support and Management of Legal matters Ensures statutory compliance in respect of the rest of the business portfolio (supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, finance, procurement, property & leasing) by vetting and advising on legal matters Providing and drafting legal opinions on all matters applicable to the business Regularly advising business on legislative and regulatory changes and amendments Reviews draft legislation relevant to the business and provides input into the impact thereof safeguarding the company's interests. Assists in the drafting of company resolutions / minutes Reporting Responsible for updating of legal reports for all regions and attending to distribution and presenting at legal reviews on monthly basis to all business units Provides regular reports to the Legal team on new legal developments Education & Experience LLB and must be an admitted attorney A minimum of two years' post articles experience in a commercial or corporate environment. Advanced skills in MS office - Word and Excel Company secretarial or corporate governance experience will be an advantage Knowledge & Skills Full understanding of company law, mergers and acquisitions, business law Clear understanding and experience of contracts and contract management Advanced skills in MS office - Word and Excel Build relationships with key stakeholders - development, franchising, franchisees (where appropriate), attorneys etc. Have a customer service ethic, whilst reducing related business risk Knowledge of trademark management and service provider management Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Good writing skills Good organizational & time management skills Advanced Computer skills Desired Skills: Advanced skills in MS office - Word and Excel Litigation Legal Advice Legal Service Desired Work Experience: 2 to 5 years Legal Advisory Desired Qualification Level: Degree Apply Now
