Reference: DBN002504-LP-1Join a leading LPG shipping and trading company as a Logistics Controller/Planner This exciting opportunity is based in Umbilo and requires strong planning ability and management qualities. Key tasks and responsibilities: Strong planning ability Route trucks efficiently Keeping customers updated regarding their orders Preparing and presenting logistics reports to senior management. Taking important health and safety measures to avoid quality control issues. Help getting transporters safe loaded at majors Monitoring fleet via telematics and camera soft wear. Route optimization Liaising with transporters for pricing and scheduling their loads and keeping all concerned updated. Trip analysis and completion of scheduled paperwork that needs to be invoiced. Assisting controllers with their work load. Preparing drivers paperwork with stops, load release etc. Planning Scheduling and loading of trucks Daily speeding and tracking reports Overseeing and managing all drivers General fleet management Ensuring that drivers and customers calls are answered in a timeous manner-after hours included Briefing of drivers Vehicle monitoring and checking for suspicious stops Tracker and trip sheet analysis Maintain driver discipline Maintain truck turnaround time Keep record of all inhouse training and arrange for days for in-house training Issuing of warnings Preparing of cases for hearings Assist with getting rid of preloads and checking in with customers if they are satisfied or if they need product Processing of drivers leave and managing fleet to ensure there are enough drivers to trucks Requirements: Matric Preferably newly acquired diploma in logistics Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications (Word / Excel / PowerPoint), in particular Excel Must be computer literate Excellent communication skills Must be able to think on your feet Goal-driven, no time wasters Team-player Able to work and thrive under pressure To go the extra mile Honest, loyal, reliable, and trustworthy. A ‘Can-do’ attitude. A problem solver Team player. Self-motivated. Operationally a hands-on person. Ability to work under pressure and deliver accurate work within a deadline driven environment.
