Machine Operator - South Africa
JOB DESCRIPTION The Operator’s primary purpose is to provide support to the Copperworks area as dictated by operational requirements. Responsibilities (NOT limited to the below) : Compliance with approved SOP’s General operation of machines at Copperworks department Constant monitoring of machines Maintaining set quality standards Assistance and support to service teams during times of maintenance and process interrupts Compliance with OSHA and company policies Maintaining housekeeping during operation Reports and reporting as instructed by supervisor Participating in scheduled meeting and training programs Maintaining stock levels of process consumables Shift hand-over protocols at work station Meeting planned targets QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE Grade 12 Previous experience in a production / process environment will be advantageous to successful candidates Basic mechanical/technical knowledge Bilingual and literate in communication as well as numeracy (calculation requirements) Proactive and quick thinking QUALIFYING ATTRIBUTES Committed, hardworking and self-motivated Strong interpersonal skills Time management and organizational skills Display a professional work approach Ability to work independently and within a team Excellent standards in execution Flexible and willing to work overtime and shifts if and when required
