Description Maintenance Engineering Supervisor Closing date: 15 March 2024 Education: Trade tested; Electrical Engineering Degree or Diploma or equivalent Experience: More than 7 years working experience in equipment management in the automotive manufacturing industry or independent experience in electrical installation and commissioning of automatic production line equipment. Experience leading a maintenance team preferred. Job Summary: Join our Client’s Team as a Maintenance Engineering Supervisor, where you will oversee the availability and maintenance of all equipment throughout our factory. This role requires an experienced individual with solid knowledge of electrical engineering, equipment management, and safety compliance in the automotive manufacturing industry. Key Responsibilities: Ensure availability and maintenance of all equipment throughout the factory, including facilities assistance. Provide fault-finding and technical support for production and maintenance subordinates. Ensure health and safety compliance of subordinates and equipment. Oversee correct and safe installation of equipment, compliant with South African regulations. Early stabilization of equipment, root cause analysis of problems, and implementation of permanent preventative measures. Develop and implement asset care strategies and procedures. Manage spare parts development and inventory management. Maintain inventory of maintenance tools. Develop and implement equipment maintenance procedures and SOPs. Develop risk assessments for equipment and facilities. Provide training on equipment risks and safe operation to production and maintenance staff. Enhance skills of maintenance team through training and development initiatives. Ensure construction quality and compliance with government regulations. Identify and resolve construction project issues, ensuring quality snag close-out. Conduct risk assessments for facilities and equipment, maintaining and improving safety standards. Qualifications and Experience: Trade tested with an Electrical Engineering Degree or Diploma or equivalent. More than 7 years of relevant working experience in equipment management in the automotive manufacturing industry or independent experience in electrical installation and commissioning of automatic production line equipment. Experience leading a maintenance team preferred. Familiarity with medium and high voltage substations and distribution, sensors, relay control circuits, inverters, electrical drawing, PLC, HMI, industrial robot programming, and electrical safety standards.
