The UNIZULU Library seeks a skilled and motivated ILS Manager to provide expert leadership in managing integrated library systems and software applications. This includes overseeing discovery services, authentication software, the library website, the institutional repository, and various digital solutions supporting open scholarship. As part of the emerging Digital Library Services team, the Manager will report to the Director and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to plan and implement a comprehensive suite of digital library services. Leadership: ILS Planning and Systems Development Library systems and applications management Collaborates with different stakeholders on Library systems and applications. Web and Media Services Management Human Resource Management MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS Four-year Degree in Library and Information Studies or Business Information Systems or Information Communication Technologies. A driver's license. EXPERIENCE Minimum eight (5) years of experience working with library systems in the higher education sector. Experience administrating ExLibris Alma/Primo VE or other integrated library systems that facilitate discovery and resource management. Experience implementing open-source and proprietary software solutions, e.g., DSpace, Drupal, Open Publishing platform, Data Management platform, etc. Experience working with application programming interfaces (APIs). Experience with relevant programming languages, analytics tools, and other related library technology like Python, XML, SQL/MySQL, Alma Analytics, JavaScript, and/or HTML/CSS. ADVANTAGES A Master's degree in any acceptable field would be an added advantage. Ex Libris's Alma & Primo VE Administration Certification ITIL foundation certificate will be an added advantage. OTHER REQUIREMENTS KNOWLEDGE Demonstrable knowledge of a range of library operations and understanding of key developments and trends in library systems and service delivery in an academic library setting. Knowledge of managing library systems or library services platforms. Familiarity with scripting and working with APIs. Knowledge of web design skills and languages such as HTML, CSS, and PHP. Understanding of emerging library technologies and how they serve stakeholders. Systems development lifecycle techniques. SKILLS Communication and networking skills at all levels with internal and external stakeholders High-level project management skills. Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and implement projects in a technology-rich environment. Project management experience. Coding and programming skills. Strong IT skills, including Systems Administration, DBMS experience, Unix, and SQL. Strong analytical and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to think strategically, set priorities, meet deadlines, and complete tasks and projects on time with little supervision.
