Operations Controller / Admin - East London

Operations Controller / Admin required for a reputable logistics company based in East London , Eastern Cape Requirements : Extensive experience in logistics and/or project management Degree / Diploma in logistics or relevant tertiary education would be a definite advantage Management and leadership abilities Organised and comfortable with data analysis Very good geographical knowledge of RSA Fully conversant in Microsoft Excel and Word Fully conversant in cross border procedures Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to develop and document quality processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Ability to fluently communicate in Zulu and/or isiXhosa would be advantageous Ability to create and conduct verbal, visual and written presentations Ability to communicate at all levels Ability to work under pressure Willing to work outside normal office hours and work out of town for short periods Valid code 8 driver’s license Duties : Assist in the planning, execution and management of commercial vehicle deliveries and drivers in line with operational principles and performance standards. Assist with the driver availability to ensure maximum efficiencies. Assist in managing the Vehicle Delivery Tracking System’s clerical and administration functions Cross Border Planning Understand, manage, and control the operational cost elements to maximize efficiencies and profitability in line with the performance expectations Liaising with (Account Executive, National Manpower & Fleet Controller) to ensure that all queries are effectively and efficiently resolved. Identify logistical challenges and implement solutions Conduct data analysis – fuel consumption Provide feedback to management regarding all operational matters. Maintaining effective communication with all Operations staff in order to ensure that all are “in the loop” regarding operational matters. Utilizing Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) in such a manner that all work is performed and presented in an accurate and uniform manner Planning and management of local vehicle deliveries (especially ensuring on-time deliveries to the IDZ Storage Yard, Local Dealers and CV Yard), as per clients’ requirements. Ensure sufficient drivers are always available to fulfil the client’s needs Communicate any delays regarding drivers and or issues with vessel delays to the client and management immediately Ensure security for the port is communicated timeously both by phone and e-mail to the respective client. Ensure all local and casual drivers always have the correct PPE Ensure the correct sequence is followed on VTS with the Sprinters from arriving at CV Yard to Data Dot and finally storage Managing the Petty Cash / Cash office functions Assist with all E-wallet functions Daily issuing and reconciliation of Budgets Compile overtime reports Compile weekly wages and monthly payroll reports Preparation & packing of budgets for drivers Assist with daily debriefing Ordering of stationery as per office requirements EL & PE Establish and maintain good working relationships Data Capturing & General filing Adhere to company Policies and Procedures Assist company to achieve Environmental, Safety and Quality objectives Should you wish to apply please email your CV through to Kerry O’Hagan at Kerryprofilepersonnel.co.za Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
