Pietermaritzburg Attorneys require a Deceased Estates Paralegal. Drafting and typing emails, faxes and letters relating to the administration of estates Attending to outgoing post Attending to/interviewing clients in person or telephonically as required Taking detailed messages including time and contact numbers Handling telephonic queries regarding estate matters, e.g. bank balances, assets and liabilities o the Estate Consulting with beneficiaries of the Estate as required Assisting with the occasional singing of wills Opening files for new Estates Loading of Estate on Legalese Opening of bank accounts Actively utilising the estates programme Placing monies into corporate saver for clients Filing, Advertising, Cheque requisitions, EFT's, Posting of fees Checking newspapers for death notices daily Record maintenance Final account for sign off of payment to beneficiaries Visiting the Master's Office when necessary for queries and following up on outstanding issues Switchboard relief Matric 4 – 5 years' experience in Estates Knowledge of LegalEase, Lexis Pay, AJS, MS Word, MS Excel and Internet & Email. Knowledge of Lawpac an advantage An understanding of Wills and Trusts Basic understanding of Accountancy/basic bookkeeping knowledge Valid driver's licence (code 08) an advantage Candidate must show initiative, have a professional manner and the ability to remain calm and gracious under pressure Du join a prominent practice with good working conditions Market related salary depending on experience Opportunity to join a prominent practice with good working conditions
