Job Advert Summary BTT is currently recruiting for sixteen (16) Plant Operators to join the Richards Bay Liquid Plant Operations Team, to ensure safe and efficient bulk storage operations on a shift basis and effective plant operation. Minimum Requirements Matric with Mathematics and Science One-year experience in chemical plant operations Chemical Operations/related post-matric qualification advantageous. Duties and Responsibilities Load and offload road tankers, rail tankers & vessels according to company safe operating procedures and works instructions. Connect and disconnect pipe systems for pigging the pipelines. Safe-making relevant equipment for maintenance or project work. Operate pumps according to company procedures and work instructions. Line up tanks for offloading/loading of products. Commission new or refurbished equipment. Conduct accurate tank dipping operations according to procedure and record or report accordingly. Complete all daily plant logbooks/check lists and report all deviations to superior. Capture road and rail turnaround times on the relevant checklist or systems. Liaise directly with the Staging Operations to arrange road trucks release. Assist with tank washing/line washing activities. Perform weighbridge activities when required using plant relevant system. Complete all daily and weekly safety check lists and report all deviations to your superior. Maintain good housekeeping standard in all plants and waste management. Carry out standby duties when required. Participate in emergency response/firefighting activities in all plants. Conduct weekly deluge testing in all plants as per procedure. Constantly monitor the operational areas to ensure that the plant always remains safe. Apply Now
