Process Technician - South Africa

The Process Technician will need to efficiently & effectively operate all functional sections of the Processing Plant in a safe manner while continuously improving work practices to achieve production targets. The Process Technicians are required to maintain high levels of plant housekeeping, monitoring equipment performance and reporting issues and defects such that overall plant utilisation is maximised. Key Duties / Tasks : Safe and efficient operation of all areas from the crusher to heap leaching facilities, including the water treatment plant Trouble-shooting all crushing/ stacking / heap leach/wet plant/ water services and elution processes. Sampling and daily inspection of the plant as required. Identifying and managing risks to the processing plant. Monitoring of the process control system (SCADA) and keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining service logs and internal service records in a timely manner. Initiate and participate in equipment handovers with Shift Supervisor and cross shift Process Technician. Maintain a high level of housekeeping. Inspect and maintain work area daily. Assists in the training of other personnel when required. Any other duties as required. Qualifications : Current unrestricted “C” Class WA Manual Drivers Licence Satisfactory GSDU clearance Senior First Aid Certificate desirable Skills and Experience: Knowledge of gold processing 2 to 5 years plant operator experience(Desirable) Analytical and problem solving abilities Intermediate computer literacy with MS Word & MS Excel Basic report writing skills Sound verbal & written communication skills.
