Ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining safety and quality standards and promotes sound employee relations and employee development and training. Accountabilities Position Accountabilities: Shop floor Industrial Relations including discipline and grievance handling (refer to Recognition agreement, Grievance, Code of conduct and Disciplinary procedure) Develop training matrix for team (refer to training procedure) Conduct competency declarations and documentation New employee and 2 yearly induction refreshers for existing employees (refer to induction procedure) Coach and training team members in accordance with standardized work procedures Role Accountabilities: Demonstrate behaviors in line with company CORE Values Implementing ergonomics and corporate safety standards and procedures and ensure compliance (refer to company safety policy, procedure, and standards) Ensure full compliance of the company Group and local safety standards, policies, and procedures. Report risks and opportunities for improvement related to duties Ensure work permits are issued in accordance to procedure Position Responsibilities: Conducting safety audits Incident investigations Report SIO’s Housekeeping – adherence to standards. Reporting safety performance Ensure adherence to quality plan and Lead line PPS Report quality performance (LOI and BD Charts) Conduct quality process testing (on a relief basis) Sample preparation and testing (on a relief basis) Ensures production targets are met Track and monitor shift production output and Actions variations Implement Lean tools and techniques, 5S, 7 wastes, Value stream mapping and line balancing Supervision/Manage of waste material and feedback report to GL weekly Routine checks on production members Reports production performance Role Responsibilities: Effective record keeping and reporting (daily / monthly reports and production forecasts and targets) Manage team attendance and leave of absence (refer to time and attendance / leave procedure) Ensure all employees comply with the health and safety standards in terms of PPE Reading of emails and making sure that the plant is ready for production based on the weekly plan. (RM and chemical batching confirmation). Green card system lodging for any breakdown and following up of green cards. Ensure that all machinery, production vehicles, equipment are safe to use before start of shift. Keep all equipment running by inspecting and performing basic maintenance prestart check list Understand the formula (SIN/COS/TAN) needed for type calculation. Be able to adjust as quickly as possible to minimize downtime. Inspect machinery and work piece to ensure that they remain compliant with specifications to reduce any malfunctions and associated loss of production. Ensure the plant month end stock take is completed accurately in time and all deviations flagged and addressed. Manage and control the warehouse stock by using warehouse stock management system and report on any deviations or abnormalities to the Group Leader and ensure follow up. Reporting Report all potential risks to the Group Leader. Report faulty or damaged machinery immediately to the Group Leader. Report any material shortages to Group Leader. Qualifications and Experience Required Minimum Education / Training Senior Certificate and or equivalent NQF Level 4. Minimum 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing environment. Computer literacy (Microsoft package and Syspro). Strong hand on individual and team player Apply Now
