Job Description : Purpose: To lead a public affairs strategy that protects Diageo’s licence to trade in SA by driving business transformation and compliance initiative required for licensing and building of reputation with stakeholders. Regulatory support for commercial expansion, in line with SA city business strategy. Accountabilities: With Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) legislation being critical to reputation and license to operate in SA, the role is responsible for: Develop and implement BBBBEE strategy in line with Diageo ambition Support HR planning (people & learning dev); procurement and commercial execution that optimize BBBEE outcomes Track and report to Exec and others on performance against target Annual audit process and secure valid certificate – as required for trading license and customer relationships Alignment of BBBEE with initiatives to attain Society 2030: Spirit of Progress targets on Inclusion and Diversity Develop and maintain positive relations with regulators relevant to the license to trade and other business operations including importation and exportation within SWC Africa Lead the CR element of the response to the growing illicit trade in alcohol, including alignment of trade/industry association, media advocacy for public awareness and mobilization of support from govt, regulators and other stakeholders Drive awareness and enforce compliance with SA industry marketing code, DMC and labelling regulations including approval of new marketing material Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Political Sciences, Economics, Legal or other business related subject Experience - Essential Minimum of 8 years’ experience in managing regulatory affairs Strong analytical and data interpretation ability Detailed understanding of and experience in implementing BBBEE programme for a multi-national Advanced stakeholder engagement capability Understanding of the Southern African policy and political landscape as well as legislative framework Experience – Desired Alcohol industry experience will be an advantage Ability to build strong, productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders within and outside of the organisation Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities Proactive mind-set, willingness to take ownership of outcomes Worker Type : Regular Primary Location: Waterfall Additional Locations : Job Posting Start Date : 2024-02-27 Apply Now
