Raw Materials Buyer - KwaZulu-Natal
Responsibilities
- Procuring raw materials required for production, ensuring that the supply chain is optimized and cost-effective.
- Source and select suppliers/vendors based on quality, reliability, and cost considerations
- Negotiate and secure favorable prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers/vendors
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure continuous production flow
- Collaborate with production teams to understand and fulfill material requirements
- Manage the purchasing process from requisition to delivery
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers/vendors
- Stay updated on industry trends and new product offerings to identify potential cost-saving opportunities
- Relevant qualification preferred
- 5years experience in procurement within an FMCG manufacturing industry
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and best practices
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
