Candidate Profile The following candidate should possess the following: Supply Chain: Constrained storage capacity with no buffer stock along the supply chain; challenges with the rail, changes on demand patterns highlighting misalignment between sale volumes and storage capacity. Legal: historical practice of hospitality and product exchange agreements, with lack of controls among the industry players; outsourced fuel transport. Legislation; BBBEE requirements; Enterprise Development Programmes. Organisation - Transport is a service provider to Retail, B2B, Supply, Specialities and NBE Affiliates. Legal & HSEQ - constantly evolving local & Group regulations to comply with. Technical - New vehicles specifications to improve safety, tracking and reporting of vehicle movements Activities The following caandidate will be responsible for the following: Routing and Scheduling activity: To manage & control the effective scheduling of the outsourced transport fleet (Secondary, Primary & Mining lSPs), ensuring optimization of transport resources while adhering to agreed delivery SLA's and complying with the Patrom, HSSEQ Policy and the relevant legislation. To monitor, set targets & implement preventive and corrective measures to meet SLA's and improve continuously the service level. To ensure the management of the compliance of transport contractors with TSA Polices and standards, which includes the following: ü Route Risks Assessments; ü Delivery Sites Risk Assessments; ü Transport Operations Task Observations; ü Responding to Incidents from customers / Transporters if necessary; ü Incident Investigations e.g. road accidents, contaminations and spills; ü Customer Visits - to discuss Transport Operations Issues e.g. Site Project Reviews with Retail; ü Visit to Transporter Depots - Meetings and Audits; ü Depot Visits - Operations Review Meetings, New Contracts Implementation, Loading Operations Task Observations, Risk Assessments and any other matters concerning transport operations. To manage good housekeeping of the Routing and Scheduling System ensuring up-to date Master Data, effective reporting & trend analysis. To recommend areas of improvement for the consideration by different stakeholders (Transport / Supply / Logistics / Marketing / HSEQ) to enhance productivity & efficiency of the transport operation and/or Supply Chain. To identify and suggest potential cost reductions to enhance overall profitability of the company. To support HSEQ compliance to the Company's HSEQ standards, any local by-laws and government legislation so as to minimize all risk pertaining to the company's assets and stock, be an excellent corporate citizen, remain operational and ensure the safety of all people. To allocate non-contracted Primary deliveries in-line with Cost reduction and Enterprise Development Strategy. To optimize the use of the Supply Points Gantries, ensuring TSA uses its allocated amount of Slots. To represent TEMSA in the Gantry Optimization workgroup at Natref, make recommendations and follow up on agreed actions. To generate and communicate delivery schedules (Tender reports) & monitor them in real time HSEQ and PATROM. To ensure compliance to Office HSEQ policies and PATROM standard for the staff and contractors. People management: To effectively manage employees through applying the company People Management principles, to develop, coach & mentor subordinates to promote a positive working environment which will attract & retain skilled staff & increase productivity Governance: To ensure effective risk management and internal control, including asset management, for area of responsibility Projects: Take active lead as business owner in projects related to routing and scheduling which includes: scheduling software (ORTEC), WIMT, EPOD, STL and its developments to further automate and dematerialize transport and delivery processes. Participation in the scope development and implementation of new contracts Context & Environment Financial - Operating expenditure of approx. 50 million €/y Volume - Secondary Transport: Volume ±2.5 Billion Litres - 94,000 deliveries - ±1.3 Million km/y. Primary Transport: Volume ±800 Million Litres - 20,245 deliveries/y People - 4 direct reports in a team of 12 staff Scope - National (deliveries) & Cross border for Primary. 14 delivering depots in SA ,14 ISP operations - 426 SOC sites - 1,200 customers Governance - RT Contracts Management as per the Group Purchasing Processes Apply Now
