JOB TITLE Safety Manager REPORTS TO Contracts Director JOB PURPOSE To assist the business unit comply with all SHE legislation; To assist the business meet all it's contractual and project requirements ROUTINE TASKS KEY PERFORMANCE AREA: Effectively ensure contracts comply with all related legislation Effectively ensure compliance with all SHE site administration requirements Effectively ensure site and project audits meet all legislation requirements Effectively manage all site SHE meetings Effectively investigate all fatal and serious accidents and incidents Effectively develop and sustain excellent client relationships Effectively manage site occupational health and safety officers Effectively manage employee health risk factors Effective self-management MINIMUM QUALIFICATION ISO 9001/2000; Systems implementation and management; Auditing qualification from certification bodies or Technikon At least 8 years' site systems implementation PROFESSIOANL MEMBERSHIP SACPCMP (Must be fully registered as a Manager) KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Supervisors' safety training course Sound Knowledge of the OSH and Construction regulations HIRA qualification Sound Knowledge of incident causation Incident investigation qualification Sound Knowledge of SANS 10085 Knowledge of Mines Health and Safety Act Valid First Aid Certificate Valid Fall arrest certification US 229998 - Must be IWH accredited Valid Fall Protection Plan Developers US 229994 - Must be IWH accredited Medical Certificate SALARY Market related LOCATION Pretoria Desired Skills: Safety management system Operational Safety Environmental Management Systems Hazard Identification OHSAS 18001 Safety Auditing HSE Management Systems Health & Safety System Safety Desired Work Experience: 5 to 10 years Health, Safety & Environment Desired Qualification Level & Accreditations: Degree South African Council for Project and Construction Management Profession About The Employer: A reputable 9CE 9GB Civil Engineering Contractor based in Pretoria.
