Main Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Capture transactions in accounting records.
- Perform reconciliation.
- Perform bookkeeping to trial balance.
- Interpreting clients accounting records and compiling annual financial statements (IFRS for SMEs)
- Performed tax calculations and completed income tax returns and provisional tax returns.
- Perform VAT and PAYE calculations to submit returns on E-filing.
- Assist Accountants with various client matters, including administrative work.
- Resolve queries.
- Performing tasks required in terms of the SAIPA competency framework.
- Any other tasks related to the role.
Requirements:
Job Requirements:
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be very comfortable with, and have a general understanding of, computers and software, with an ability to learn new software quickly.
- Have a working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Experience with Draftworx, Xero, and Pastel is advantageous but not required.
- Have solid analytical ability and work well under pressure while maintaining high levels of accuracy and quality of work.
- Be deadline-driven and able to work independently without constant supervision.
- Have a strong desire to learn and develop in the position in line with furthering your traineeship.
- Great bill of health, both physically and mentally.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be studying towards or possessing a BCom Degree or similar qualification.
- Valid Drivers license (will be a great advantage) and own reliable transport.
