Essential: 1. Grade 12 – Matric or a Senior Certificate 2. PSIRA Grade E, D and C Security Training 3. English – Read, write, and speak well as it is the organization’s official language. 4. Grade C accreditation with the PSIRA 5. Minimum exposure of at least 3 years in the retail industry, such as shopping malls and warehouses Special conditions of employment: 1. PSIRA registered with a valid PSIRA Certificate 2. South African Citizen 3. Background Checks, Verifications and Screening: Clear criminal and credit record 4. Own reliable transport 5. Greeting customers in a friendly manner, directing customers 2. Getting assistance for them if required Sales Floor Observations: 1. Manages security/loss prevention operations daily. 2. Areas of responsibilities include protection of property assets, employees, guests and property, accident and fire prevention and response. 3. Ensures that all areas of the property are safe and secure. 4. Regular searches of employees 5. Random Breath analysing 6. Maintains logs, certifications and documents required by law and Standard Operating Procedures 7. Strives to continually improve customer and employee satisfaction. 8. Be able to identify suspicious persons and actions and correctly perform arrests. 9. Display strong observation skills - All irregular activities by either customer or staff identified and reported. 10. Ensure customer policies and procedures are adhered to at all times. Do Following Checks as Required: 1 Do unit & Hot Product counts, compare counts with system figures. 2 Check that required stock is EAS tagged, do tests on tags to ensure they are active. Arresting Procedure: A customer can only be stopped at the exit if he/she was seen taking an item of the shelf, concealing the item & leaving with the item. Always know & apply the arresting procedure to the letter. NB: Look for spillage, if any seen stay at the spot & radio for a cleaner to come & clean the area immediately. Do not move away until it is cleaned. Ensure that cleaners use Wet floor Signs when cleaning. NB: Warn customers in a friendly manner if they are careless with their handbags or if it is open.
