Purpose The Senior Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely payment of 2000 salaries staff and assist with 2500 weekly wages staff . The payment must be in line with legislative requirements, Company policies and procedures. Key Relationships/Interactions The Senior Payroll Administrator is required to have strong working relationships with Human Resources team and a high level customer service to Management and employees. Position Accountabilities The Senior Payroll Administrator is responsible for: To coordinate payroll activities including payroll processing, ensuring appropriate levels of quality, accuracy, attention to detail. Ensure compliance is met in line with appropriate legislation, regulations and the National Bargaining Council for the Road Freight and Logistics Industry. Co-ordinate and prepare payment for all Statutory- and Non-Statutory deductions and contributions at month end i.e. Garnishees, Medical Aid, Bargaining Council, Provident fund etc. Processing leave applications and escalate any sick leave or absenteeism concerns to the Group Payroll Manager Provide payroll advice, guidance and support to the Group Assist External Auditors with annual auditing of the Payroll system Producing ad hoc reports for payroll processing, leave reports, overtime reports, monthly journals and month end reports. Assist with the monthly submission of the National Bargaining Council for the Road Freight and Logistic Industry submission and reconciliation. Assist the Wages Department with processing of monthly and weekly wages. Processing of Terminations on a monthly basis and loading of new staff. The payroll is quite busy with a high number of terminations and new appointments. Interpersonal Skills and Experience Experience leading and coordinate a payroll function within a large scale organisation. Ensure and maintain high level quality and accuracy of data entered in to the system. Organisation and time management skills. Problem solving skills Be able to deal with confidential and sensitive payroll related matters. To relate to people from various cultures and to work in a team. Understand the rules of the NBCRFLI Main Collective Agreement, BCEA, Wholesale and Retail Sector and Unemployment Act Analytical and numeracy skills Sage Employment Self Service Portal experience Minimum of 5 years' experience on Sage HR Premier system Must have a Matric Excellent Excel Skills is required i.e. Pivot Tables, Formulas Must have a salaries and wages over a 1000 Special Requirement Due to the nature of the position some out of hours work will be required. Own transport is important Position will be office based at Value Logistics Elandsfontein Peak periods in the Payroll Department: 1st October - 20th December, January, February, March, April – Annual leave will only be allowed during the compulsory period confirmed by the Company for the last week in December.
