Job Title: Snr HR Representative Division: Lobster Ink Africa Department: HR Location: Cape Town, South Africa Working model: Hybrid Reporting to (Job Title): HR Director - Specialty Group Purpose of role The HR Representative's role is to support Lobster Ink Africa, managing the full end-to-end HR functions of the employee life cycle and acting as a trusted HR advisor to Lobster Ink employees and management based in Cape Town. In addition to your local responsibilities, you will support other US or IMEA regional divisions. This dual role allows you to contribute to other divisional HR functions or participate in strategic global initiatives within the Ecolab group. Responsibilities: Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & Offboarding: Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs. Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, applicant screening, and interviewing. Facilitate and manage the onboarding process for all new hires from pre-to-post milestones. Manage the termination process by performing exit interviews and processing the relevant information and documentation to all stakeholders. Employee Relations: Provide advice and guidance to management and staff on HR-related matters, including employee relations, performance management, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. Handle employee relations issues, including conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary procedures. Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances. Facilitate conflict resolution and maintain positive employee relations. Conduct investigations as needed and recommend appropriate actions. HR Policies and Compliance: Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and practices by relevant legislation and best practices. Precisely implement ISO compliance standards. Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and documentation, including personnel files and s. Ensure compliance with all applicable local employment laws and regulations. Manage Employment Equity plan implementation, compliance, and annual reporting. Supervise Health & Safety implementation compliance. Training and Development: Conduct training sessions on HR policies, procedures, and practices for management and staff. Coordinate training budget for leadership and associates' training and development. Manage recognition awards function for Leadership training candidates annually. Payroll, Compensation, and Benefits management: Effectively manage payroll by submitting relevant payroll information accurately and within stipulated timeframes every month. Work closely with the country-specific Ecolab payroll administrator to address queries promptly and accurately. Administer and manage compensation and benefits programs, including salary and bonus programs. Provide employee assistance with medical aid queries and administration in conjunction with the payroll administrator. Employee wellbeing and recognition: Participate in the development and implementation of HR-related initiatives, such as diversity and inclusion programs, employee engagement surveys, employee wellness, and long service awards recognition. Manage and coordinate the Lobster Ink recognition program in conjunction with HR Europe, on a quarterly and annual basis. Coordinate social events and celebrations in conjunction with the support of the social committee. Communication: Communicate HR-related matters effectively, ensuring relevant and informative communications through various channels, including monthly town halls. Dual Responsibilities: As part of a shared role, support either Ecolab IMEA or Ecolab US operations. Collaborate with global HR teams to align strategies and initiatives. Responsibilities in the dual role may change as per the needs of the business. Required Competencies (knowledge, skills, ability): Ability to work independently and as part of a global team. Resilient & manage change effectively. Strong attention to detail. Minimum experience required: Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including exposure to international HR practices. Strong knowledge of South African labour laws and employment regulations. Employment Equity annual planning & submissions experience. Experience working in a global matrix organization is preferable. Microsoft Offie and Workday proficiency is essential Minimum qualifications/education: Bachelor's degree in human resources. Work conditions (Travel requirements/Physical demands): Hybrid work environment. Must be flexible in terms of working hours and availability. Additional US/Global Ecolab responsibilities might require different time zone availability.
