Specialist Field Guide - Port Elizabeth
An exciting opportunity arises for a Specialist Field Guide, our client is looking for a strong candidate to fill this position.
Key Performance Areas of this position include:
- Conduct an advanced game drive experience (2 x 3 hours daily)
- Conduct walking safaris (if qualified to do so)
- Host guests at certain meals and other relevant times
- Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of vehicles and equipment/assets
- Carry out stand by duties and other activities undertaken by guests
- Perform duties as required by the Field Guide Department
- Work independently and unsupervised for majority of time
Minimum criteria required:
- FGASA qualification Level 2 or NQF4 Field guide qualification
- Full / Lead Trails guide or related specialist field guide qualification
- At least 4-5 years’ experience dealing with big five game and five-star clientele
Competencies required:
- Code B of EB driver’s license and valid PDP
- SAPS firearms competency for rifle
- Valid first aid certificate
- DEAT registered
- 4x4 Driving experience preferable
- Trails guide and Advanced Rifle handling qualification
- People orientated personality
- Good general knowledge of current affairs both locally and internationally
