Job Title: Strata Control OfficerLocation: Northern CapeIndustry: Mining Job Type: Full-time RPO Recruitment's client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strata Control Officer to join their mining team in the Northern Cape. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability and safety of underground mining operations by monitoring and managing rock mechanics and ground control practices.Responsibilities:Conducting regular inspections of underground workings to assess ground conditions and identify potential stability issuesDesigning and implementing strata control measures to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of mining personnelProviding technical support and guidance to mining engineers and supervisors on ground control practicesMonitoring ground movement and rock conditions using various geotechnical instrumentsMaintaining accurate records of ground control activities and reporting on trends and developmentsCollaborating with other departments to implement strata control strategies that align with overall mine plans and production targetsTraining and mentoring junior staff on best practices for strata control and ground supportEssential Requirement:Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related fieldChamber of Mines Strata Control CertificateAt least 5 years of experience in a similar role within the mining industryStrong knowledge of rock mechanics, geotechnical engineering principles, and ground control practicesExperience with geotechnical instruments and software for monitoring ground conditionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic mining environmentValid driver's licenseBenefits:Salary: NegotiableFamily Leave (Maternity, Paternity)Paid Time Off (PTO) (if applicable) If you meet the above requirements and want to make a career-changing move, apply today by either filling in the online application form or emailing your CV to RPO Recruitment at miningrporecruitment.usAlternatively, you are also welcome to contact Anzaan Kennedy on LinkedIn or call her on 021 180 0776.Please note that correspondence will only be conducted with shortlisted candidates for this position.
